Dr. Liu, L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Georgia and has been practicing Acupuncture in Atlanta since 2001. Dr. Liu specializes in hormonal issues, weight, stress and anxiety, fertility, men’s health issues and anti-aging.
She graduated with a doctorate degree in medicine from Jiamusi Medical University in China in 1996 and completed her postgraduate training in Heilongjiang Chinese Medicine University in 2000 where Dr. Liu was awarded her O.M.D. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine).
She is a native Harbin, also called “Little Paris of the East”, in North-eastern China. Harbin is famous for the “Harbin Ice and Snow Festival” which is a carnival that provides visitors with a whole new world of ice and snow. At the age of 8, she was given a tour of her uncle’s herb lab in a Chinese medical school. The big varieties of herbs fascinated and excited her. At the age of 9, she observed an acupuncture treatment done on the scalp of someone else and later that same year she received her first acupuncture treatment. Brought up by her grandmother, a natural medicine believer with full knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Folk Medicine, her childhood had a strong connection with healing. Dr. Liu’s experience in witnessing Chinese people feeling healthy with non-invasive techniques made her decide to explore the body’s secrets even further.
In 1996, after graduation from medical school, she came to America. As a torch relay bearer as well as a team doctor, she served the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. She had a private practice in Wisconsin for five years, then moved to Atlanta in 2001. Although with her medical background Dr. Liu could have become a medical doctor, she followed her heart to use natural healing and decided to become an acupuncturist.
Research led her to the inescapable conclusion that an effective nutritional system was needed and one which was not reliant on symptoms. She discovered Nutrition Response Testing and it changed the course of her medical practice forever. She graduated as a Clinical Master of the Advanced Training Program at Ulan Nutritional Systems, Inc. (UNS) in March 2013 and currently teaches one-day workshops for health providers.
Dr. Liu believes “Nutrition is the foundation for a successful practice, and it is vital to help anyone of any age group to reach their optimum health effectively and efficiently. Nutrition Response Testing removes any health mystery. There is simply no guesswork. The certainty and confidence I feel and results I get helping my patients are unbelievable – miraculous even. Having an extensive background in the healing profession, I consider that quite an accolade. The benefits are by no means limited to just my patients. When I started with UNS in 2011, I had zero nutrition patients and I now average 70 plus per week with peaks above 80, and we continue to grow.”
Proficiency of medical terminology and creative thinking made her understand each client and their body very well. In order to refine her professional skills, her postgraduate training included Clinical Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Auricular Therapy, Esoteric Acupuncture, and Qi Kung. Also, her experience of Colonics, Kinesiology, and psychic healing is a treasured resource to direct people to the most efficient healing. After your initial visit, your health history will be studied thoroughly, and a customized treatment plan will be given based on the evaluation and most updated research information.
Her practice combines modern technology with the art of ancient healing as well as attention from the heart. This comprehensive healing system helps to heal not only her patient’s body but the mind and soul as well.
In addition to being the published author of “Myths and Truths About Health”, Dr. Liu has been a guest speaker at Emory University, Georgia State University as well as for health insurance underwriters. Her talks offer continuing education credits for nurses. She has also trained more than 100 students including physicians, chiropractors, nurses, massage therapists and reflexologists in the field of Chinese medicine. She has been interviewed by CNN, local newspapers and by Atlanta Style and Design Magazine. Called by her clients “Angel of Healing”, she is determined to unveil the truth of life and educate people to trust themselves to maintain health naturally.
Maureen Grady has spent the last thirty years studying, teaching, and practicing healing and bodywork. Her primary mode of healing is Advanced level Craniosacral therapy. She has also studied healing and massage techniques from around the world, from ancient to modern. Maureen is a graduate of the University of Minnesota in Psychology and Spanish and holds a master’s degree in human development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Her graduate research was centered on international healing and the connection between the mind and the body. Maureen is currently a master’s level intern at Argosy University in Atlanta studying community mental health counselling.
Much of Maureen’s work has been to combine psychology and bodywork. As a result she has come to understand, promote and develop in others the fusion between the mind, body, spirit and soul. Her belief is that each person carries within themselves, within their own bodies, knowledge and insight into what their body needs in order to heal itself. Maureen’s natural empathy coupled with her knowledge, enable her to guide people to listen to their own bodies. Many people not only listen and learn but are able to follow these insights to heal themselves of pain, free themselves from restrictions and thereby experiencing a sense of greater freedom and joy.
